Developed custom connectors by integrating VBA, MS Access, VB, with Outlook VBA that processed zipped files that arrived as attachments for daily reports, files and datasets. The MS Access program monitored Outlook via the library, then processed the attachments by unzipping, reading the files, parsing the headers then reformatted the data for Yardi Systems General Ledger property management module.
The client was consuming several hours per day for a daily task that was very tedious that few in the offices wanted to deal with. The net savings in man hours was about 16 to 20 hours per week or the equivalent of part time employee's salary.
Net savings in a professional office was significant enough to justify project.
